A talk and practical demonstration to members of Stock & Buttsbury Heritage Society presented on 27th June 2013. The history and development of the wool trade and industry was given. The wool trade history paralleled that of England and many of the industry sayings were incorporated in to the English language such as "pull the wool over your eyes", "on tender hooks", "piece work" etc. From different breeds of sheep, to spinning, to weaving, dyeing and finishing the cloth was explained. After the talk the audience were encouraged to try out the loom etc. that Peter bought with him.
